Is my data safe during a repair?
Yes. I use a dedicated, offline backup system to secure your data before I start work. I never open or look through your personal files. They're none of my business.
What do you charge for diagnosis?
If you go ahead with the repair, the diagnosis is free. If you decide not to go ahead, there's a small fee to cover the time spent investigating, usually £15 to £20, and I'll tell you this upfront.
How long do repairs take?
Most jobs, such as SSD upgrades or virus removal, are finished within 24 to 48 hours. More complex jobs like data recovery can take 2 to 5 days. I'll keep you updated throughout.
Why is my laptop so slow?
Nine times out of ten, it's an old mechanical hard drive (HDD). These have moving parts that wear out over time. Replacing it with an SSD (solid state drive) is the single best upgrade you can make. It's like getting a new laptop.
Do you come to me, or do I bring the device to you?
Either. I can collect and return your device, or visit your home for set-up jobs like printers and smart devices. We'll agree whatever suits you best.
Are you DBS checked?
Yes, I hold an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate.
